Not long ago, we just entered the summer solstice. During the summer solstice season, taking care of the heart is essential.
Our heart, according to the five elements, belongs to fire and corresponds with the summer energy. The heart uses yang energy to drive the heartbeat and warm and circulate the blood throughout the body, ensuring the continuous vitality of life.
After the summer solstice, I wonder if everyone has felt any different sensations in their body.
When our blood and energy are sufficient, sweating appropriately is a way to nurture the heart. Through sweat, we can directly help metabolize the impurities in our blood.
Summer is the best season to sweat. If you don’t sweat properly, cold energy will accumulate more and more, and the body will start to have problems.
Exercising to sweat actively is very beneficial for our bodies.
In summer, you must get moving!
People who usually sit in an office and have a body that tends to be impure should do aerobic exercises (dancing, running, jumping rope, playing ball, swimming…).
If you are thin and weak, the better choice is strength training, which is anaerobic exercise.
Zumba is a very good outdoor fitness activity and is also a very important exercise method for protecting and nurturing the heart in summer.
Be careful, sweating unreasonably can “hurt the heart”: steam baths, saunas, excessive bathing… Passive sweating can potentially worsen physical weakness and deplete vital energy, resulting in more harm than good.
“The mind that takes on things is called the heart.”
— “Lingshu · Benshen”
Taking on things means the capacity of the heart to bear matters, which is also the heart’s ability to endure.
The stronger the heart’s ability to take on things, the stronger the heart.
Let the heart take responsibility. “Don’t be afraid, I’ve got everything covered,” is taking on things.
This is also the best way to nurture the heart.
Being joyful often is to be happy.
In a natural state, open your heart – do what you like with people you like. Gradually, you’ll be able to like more and more people and enjoy doing a wider variety of things. When you can do anything with anyone and be happy yourself while making others happy too, that’s true joy.
The heart is the residence of the spirit. When the heart is at peace, the spirit is at peace.
I hope everyone can find a way to try and take care of their heart and spirit this summer.
Get moving and make your heart happy!
