Intro to Art Therapy with Kate Laux. Following a guided visualization, cancer patient or survivor will explore color and form and the idea of building protection in their life as they go through cancer diagnosis and treatments. Art materials are provided (watercolor).

Kate received her MA in Art Therapy at Concordia University (2009). Kate currently works as an art therapist for the Cedars Cancer Institute, based in the McGill University Health Centre. She offers art therapy in a hospital setting to in- and out-patients living with cancer.  She specializes in life transitions following an illness diagnosis. In addition to art therapy, Kate is a researcher working on an an ongoing art-based research project at the MUHC Breast Clinic and another art therapy research project just for young women living with breast cancer at the Hope & Cope Wellness Centre. She and her team of researchers are working with women living with breast cancer to see how art therapy can benefit them as they journey through diagnosis and treatments and post-treatment.
