Janet Jian Liu, as an artist, has fought through tough mastectomy surgeries and lengthy chemotherapy after diagnosed breast cancer in 2005. She had another breast cancer surgery and radiation treatment in 2012. It was this difficult experience that inspired and encouraged Janet to establish a charitable organization to help other breast cancer patients, survivors, and community in a novel way of knowing of, beating off and recovering from the sickness. Janet has recognized that it’s not sufficient only relying on medical treatment during the recovery and that the more important thing is to maintain a positive and healthy lifestyle. By participating different activities of art and healthy living, patients and survivors can find more positive thinking and active life style they need to fight the disease.
